Police are investigating after gunshots were reported in Waterloo early Sunday morning. Waterloo Regional Police said they received multiple calls at about 1:50 a.m. reporting gunfire in the area of Bridgeport Road East and Weber Street North. According to police, an initial investigation determined that shots were exchanged between the occupants of two vehicles. Officers believe at least one person involved in the incident was injured, but the individual has not yet been located. Roads in the area were closed for several hours as police conducted their investigation. They have since reopened. An increased police presence is expected to remain in the neighbourhood as members of the General Investigations Unit and Forensic Identification Unit continue to canvass for witnesses and evidence.
